One evening, at a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting, I was talking with Floyd, a student leader of Campus Crusade. He later became Lynne’s husband. He told me that I needed to make a decision to allow Jesus to take control of my life. I would then know that it was true. After that, I went home and read about a third of a book Ben had given me, Mere Christianity, by C.S. Lewis. In his book he outlined how we could look at “right” and “wrong” as a clue to the universe. He made you think about where “right” and “wrong” came from? After reading I said to myself “I don’t know with a 100% intellectual certainty that this is reality, but I believe in my heart that it is true.” I got down on my knees in the dorm room on November 19th, 1983 and I prayed “Lord Jesus, take control of my will.” After that I went to bed. When I woke up, I had great joy in my heart. I went hang gliding with some friends and I knew that Jesus was in my life.
That was the most important decision that I have made in my life. I wouldn’t trade a relationship with the Lord for anything. I would like you to consider reading the Bible and asking Jesus into your heart today! If you have any questions, please write at: rruedemann1963@gmail.com
